Number of shared cars in the Netherlands 2011-2021
The amount of shared cars in the Netherlands increased steadily in the last decade, and is believed to double between 2019 and 2021. While there were only two thousand shared cars on the streets in 2011, there were more than 50 thousand of them in 2019. Because of their positive effects on the climate and local air quality, the Dutch government aimed for 100,000 shared cars on the Dutch roads by 2021.
