Netherlands: familiarity with shared mobility 2019

Of the three main means of shared transport in the Netherlands, shared bicycles were the most popular in 2019. Nearly thirty percent of the respondents to a Dutch survey indicated that they had used a shared bicycle at least once. In contrast, shared cars had only been used by seven percent of the respondents, whereas e-scooter use was even lower than that. The latter is explained by the fact that electric scooters in the Netherlands are close to being illegal - because they have to adhere to various strict rules, there have not been any large e-scooter platforms in the Netherlands as of 2020.
