In 2020, more female tech founders reported experiencing harassment from potential investors, clients, customers, and cofounders than their male counterparts did. Conversely, more male founders than female founders reported experiencing harassment from employees, journalists, and current investors. Approximately 40 percent of women reported having experienced harassment from a potential investor, while only 12 percent of men reported having had this same experience. Harassment from employees appears more common for male founders, as 47 male respondents reported having this experience, while 34 percent of female respondents reported having this experience.
