Forecast share of global silver demand for energy by technology 2050

One of silver's main uses in the energy industry is for solar applications (photovoltaics and concentrated solar power). Forecast figures for 2050 indicate that around 96.3 percent of the silver used for energy technologies will be used in solar photovoltaics, mainly in the crystalline silicon subtechnology.
