Income reduction due to COVID-19 in Italy 2021, by type of employment
According to a survey conducted in April 2021, around 32.5 percent of Italian workers saw their income decreasing during the coronavirus pandemic. When taking into account only self-employed workers, moreover, this figure jumped to 55.3 percent. Wages cut were also considerably high for this category of workers. Almost 10 percent of self-employed persons, in fact, saw their income more than halving.
