Coronavirus (COVID-19) new cases in Italy since February 2020, by date of report

The first two cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Italy were recorded between the end of January and the beginning of February 2020. Since then, the number of cases in Italy increased steadily, reaching more than 1.4 million as of November 24, 2020. The region most hit by the virus in the country was Lombardy, with more than 381 thousand cases. On November 13, 40,902 new cases were registered, which represented the biggest increase in daily cases in Italy since the start of the pandemic.
