Share of French women who reported domestic violence during lockdown 2020, by age
Nearly one in ten French women reported experiencing domestic violence during lockdown. Isolation, forced promiscuity, and the absence of escape routes were indeed factors of aggravation in domestic violence. However, few of these victims went to a police station to file a complaint. Less than ten percent of those over 50 years of age did so, and 15 percent of those aged 25 to 34. Nevertheless, nearly a quarter of the youngest women filed a complaint.
