
Women's difficulties following domestic violence during lockdown in France 2020
Nine percent of French women report having been victims of domestic violence during the period of the first lockdown (March 17 to May 11, 2020), and many reported suffering long-term effects as a result of this violence. 26 percent of victims reported having encountered health problems, and more than one fifth faced professional or economic difficulties. Additionally, one fifth also feared for their own life in the wake of the attack(s).
