Favorability toward legalization of abortion 2014-2022
The global favorability toward the legalization of abortion decreased by one percentage point between 2014 and 2021. In 2021, 71 percent of respondents from 27 countries worldwide believed that abortion should be permitted, either whenever a woman decides to or under given circumstances. In 2022, the phrasing was changed, indicating that 59 percent of respondents believed abortion should be legal in either all or some cases.
