Monthly amounts outstanding for new and existing business loans in Canada 2016-2022
The value of outstanding loans to the corporate sector in Canada grew overall during the period from July 2016 to July 2021. In particular, especially fast growth occurred between January 2020 and March 2020, when the value increased from around 514 billion Canadian dollars up to around 546 billion. Over the following months the value decreased before growing again, ending up at an amount of around 583 billion Canadian dollars in July 2021 - the highest value during the whole period.
