Language distribution of songs in the weekly radio charts in France 2017-2020
The songs appearing in the weekly radio music charts in France from 2017 to 2020 are by vast majority sung either in English or in French. According to the source, both languages occupy roughly the same share of occurrences. While in 2017 and 2018, English speaking songs were leading by two percent over French-speaking songs (48 vs 46 percent), in 2019 and 2020, it was the opposite. The remaining share of occurrences was occupied by instrumental songs or Spanish-speaking songs.
