In 2015, the overwhelming majority of railway commuters in Japan's Greater Tokyo Area egressed the railway by foot, generating traffic of approximately 7.11 million passengers per day and one-way trip. Pedestrians needed around nine minutes to reach their destination, the average commuter ten minutes.
