At the end of 2021 Austria had 7.21 million registered automotive vehicles. The motor vehicle fleet in Austria has grown very consistently over the past ten years, growing by approximately 100,000 each year. This matches an equally consistent rise in the Austrian motorization rate in the country, which now stands at 570 cars per 1,000 inhabitants in 2021.
