E-commerce share of brick-and-mortar clothing sales in Canada 2016-2021
In Canada, online clothing and accessories sales generated by brands with brick-and-mortar stores grew significantly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, e-commerce accounted for almost 14 percent of clothing and accessories store sales in the North American country. This figure was almost triple that of the previous year when online sales made up approximately 5 percent of the total in this category. ln 2021, the e-commerce market share fell slightly to 10.7 percent, but remained well above pre-pandemic levels.
