Over 2.2 thousand online articles that featured a narrative that Russia was seeking peace were published by pro-Kremlin news outlets in the 70 days prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, or from December 16, 2021, to February 24, 2022. Furthermore, other 2.1 thousand articles mentioned that Russia had a moral obligation to do something in the Donbas region.
