Hong Kong: young people book reading number 2023

A 2023 survey found that young people in Hong Kong consumed an average of four printed books and one digital book in the last six months prior the survey period. Overall, over 40 percent of respondents had not read any digital books whereas only 15 percent of respondents confirmed so for printed books.

The average age of respondents was 17.5 years old. Male respondents accounted for 47.3%. About 65.6% of respondents had a secondary school degree whereas the rest achieved a bachelor degree or above. About 84.1% of respondents were born in Hong Kong.
