In the second half of 2023, more than half (or 55 percent) of programmatic out-of-home (OOH) advertising transactions in the United States occurred through custom private marketplace deals (PMPs). Little more than one-third (36 percent) took place via always-on PMPs. Differently from customized sales, always-on or evergreen ones can be used for any programmatic campaigns. Billboards were the leading format by share of programmatic OOH expenditure in the U.S.
