From 2014 to 2023, English Premier League clubs had a combined net transfer spend of more than 11 billion euros, representing the highest sum of any soccer league worldwide. Meanwhile, Portugal's Primeira Liga had a negative net spend of over two billion euros, meaning that clubs typically received much more in transfer fees than they spent during that time.
