Incidences of whooping cough among children and teenagers in Germany 2024, by age
In 2023, there were around 77 cases of whooping cough per 1,000 residents up to the age of four. Figures dropped since 2017. 2021 saw a new low in the number of cases, probably due to the lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, however, there was an increase in cases, and the number of cases for those under the age of four was the highest since 2013.
