Breakdown of self-storage real estate investment in Europe 2022, by buyer type
In 2022, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and operators took the lead as the main investors in self-storage facilities across Europe. Real estate investment trusts and operators accounted for half of the total investment volume in self-storage facilities. The second position was held by money managers, who accounted for one-fourth of the investment volume. Additionally, private equity represented 21 percent of the total investment volume for self-storage stores.
