North America: Availability of online fare media sale among public transport agencies

As of 2022, 100 percent of the reporting public transport agencies had the availability of online pay for bus rapid transit, hybrid rail, monorail, inclined plane, and cable car in the U.S. and Canada. Although the total reporting agencies for each were 8, 3, 1, and 1, respectively. Light rail, commuter rail, and heavy rail respectively had 95.2, 94.4, and 91.7 percent of online sale availability. Bus had only 63.6 percent of agencies offering online sale of fare media, and finally, ferryboat had the lowest share with 55.6 percent.

For each transportation mode, a different number of agencies reported on it. Thus, for example, only one agency reported about the availability of online pay for cable cars so that it took 100 percent of the share. Otherwise, the figures are calculated in the same manner with number of agencies offering online pay for fare media / total number of agencies reporting.
