In 2022, the participation of women in caregiving activities in Brazil was higher than that of men. In that year, nearly 35 percent of women performed this type of work, while only around 23 percent of men did.

The source grouped the caregiving activities of children, the elderly, or people with disabilities into five sets, identified as: assisting with personal care ; assisting with personal care; reading, playing games; monitor or keeping company at home; and transportation or accompaniment to school, doctor, exams, park, square, social, cultural, sports or religious activities.
