U.S. award shows: viewer numbers 2019

In 2019, the awards show with the highest number of viewers in the United States was by far the Academy Awards on ABC, with 29.6 million viewers. Whilst this may sound impressive and shows improvement from the 26.5 million viewers recorded in 2018 (the lowest ever for the Oscars), the 2019 figure is almost ten million lower than the one recorded a decade before. At the bottom of the ranking was the Emmys, which did not fare well in 2019. The Emmys ratings hit an all-time low at just 1.6, with 6.9 million viewers.
