In 2020, around 6.2 million drivers were involved in property-damage-crashes on U.S. roads, which was the lowest figure recorded since 1995. This figure was a 27 percent decrease from the figure recorded in 2019, which was the highest number of property-damage-crashes recorded since 1995. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among those under the age of 55 in the United States.
