National Arts Index of arts participation in the U.S. 2001-2013

* To create the index 22 different indicators for arts participation such as "personal expenditure on arts" and "volunteering for the arts" were used. The index is set to a base of 100 in 2003, the higher the score the better the participation in arts. Every point difference represents one percent change.
