The average operating income of teams in the National Hockey League increased significantly in 2021/22 over the previous season. After NHL franchises made an operating loss of 39.55 million U.S. dollars on average in 2020/21, the figure for the 2021/22 season rose to 49.16 million U.S. dollars.
