Opinion on having children by gay and lesbian Americans in the U.S. in 2009 This statistic shows the results of a survey among gay men and lesbian women in the United States regarding their plans to have children in the future. The survey was conducted in 2009. 34.5 percent of the lesbian and 40 percent of the gay respondents definitely do not want to have children in the future.
