In its 2014 Global Entertainment & Media Outlook report, PwC projected that the worldwide average cinema admission price would grow from 4.74 U.S. dollars in 2014 to 5.16 U.S. dollars in 2018.

Admission prices differ significantly worldwide

Therefore, ticket prices can be as low as 2.06 U.S. dollars in Mexico, and as high as 9.11 U.S. dollars in North America. Due to the downward trend in admission numbers, many countries have seen an increase in admission prices over the last few decades.
