This 2013 survey presents the UK adults' opinion on what traits are most important for scientists to have today. While being interesting and open were not perceived as significant characteristics for scientists, the respondents weighed honesty as the most important trait scientists should have - almost 50 percent having that opinion. Ethical behavior was understood to be very important for scientists, too, whereas less than a third of the surveyed found creativity and good communicating abilities particularly necessary for scientists to have.
