Gross box office revenue in Russia 2016-2022
The cinema box office revenue in Russia reached 23.7 billion Russian rubles in 2022, down 42 percent from the previous year. The decrease was due to the exodus of Western distributors from the Russian market in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Thus, in 2022, Russia did not make it to the ranking of the leading 10 markets by the number of tickets sold.
