This statistic shows the results of a survey concerning the popularity of various e-mail services among German citizens in 2015. During the survey period it was found that roughly 27 percent of German internet users had their main address with GMX, making it the most popular service. GMX went online in 1997 as one of the first free email providers in Germany. WEB.DE followed in second place with 25.8 percent of German internet users having signed up for an email address, and T-Online came in third with 11.8 percent. As of 2015, the frequency of email usage in Germany amounted to 27 percent of respondents using it several times a week.
