Swimming participation England 2006-2016
This statistic shows the results of a survey on the number of people participating in swimming in England from 2006/2007 to 2015/2016. The survey was conducted via telephone interviews and gathered data from 168,808 respondents till March 2016. In 2015/2016, it was found that approximately 4.18 million people participated in swimming on a monthly basis in England. Overall participation in swimming has been on a decline in England, as the number of swimmers has steadily decreased over the time period from approximately 5.6 million people in 2007.
