In a survey on the number of people who play rugby union at least twice a month at any intensity for any duration in England between 2016 and 2021. The survey was conducted online and the latest update on it was conducted for the time period between November 2020 and November 2021 with a total of 177,273 respondents. The data collected resulted in the conclusion that as of November 2021, approximately 133,600 adults in England play rugby union twice on a monthly basis. In comparison over the same period approximately 34,500 people participated in rugby league in England.
