Share of viewers who will watch the Academy Awards in the U.S. 2020

As of January 2020, just 12 percent of U.S. adults said that they were planning to watch the Oscars, and the majority of survey respondents had no plans to watch any of the ceremony and did not intend to follow the events on social media either. Oscar viewership in the U.S. has been fluctuating for several years, but just 23.6 million people watched the 2020 ceremony, the lowest figure ever recorded.
