Transformation of coal in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2011-2019 by use

Coal has been majorly used to generate electricity in the United Kingdom. Between 2011 and 2019, the UK electricity generation from coal decreased considerably, from 41.85 million to 2.9 million metric tons, respectively. Overall, all uses reduced its coal consumption due to the new policies to mitigate climate change. Heat generation has used the least amount of coal, at six thousand metric tons since 2015.
