In June 2023, paperback books had a market share of 38.8 percent, whilst hardbacks accounted for 30.2 percent of total trade book sales. Audiobooks gained ground between June 2020 and June 2023, whereas the share of sales made up by e-books dropped by three percent in the same period. Print still accounts for the majority of trade sales.
