Audiobook consumption in the U.S. 2020-2023

According to a survey held among U.S. adults in early 2023, the share of respondents who reported ever having listened to an audiobook amounted to 53 percent. The percentage remained relatively stable since 2020, indicating little growth in terms of new consumers engaging with the format, but jumped substantially in 2023, surpassing 50 percent for the first time. That being said, audiobook revenue continues to grow consistently each year.
