Leading payment methods for online shopping in Belgium 2016-2018 This statistic shows the answers to a survey question on the leading payment methods for online shopping from Belgium 2016 to 2018. As of 2018, roughly 20 percent of the Belgian respondents said they prefer using PayPal or a similar service when paying for an online purchase. One preferred way of conducting money transfers in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands is by card. In 2017, Luxembourg had approximately 240 card payments per capita compared to 166 in Belgium and 250 in the Netherlands.
