Smoking rate of Japanese females as of 2018, by age group

Smoking is slightly more prevalent among women aged 40 to 49 years, with around 13.6 percent of female respondents claiming to smoke out of habit, as revealed by a survey conducted in November 2018 in Japan. Within higher age groups, smoking became less common, with only just over three percent of women stating to smoke habitually.
