Vape consumption frequency in Japan 2022
Only 0.5 percent of adults in Japan smoked nicotine-free e-cigarettes every day according to a panel survey on tobacco consumption conducted between July and August 2022 by Rakuten Insight. That year, nearly 92 percent of respondents reported to have never smoked them before.
While e-cigarettes are distributed within the Japanese tobacco market, e-liquids containing nicotine are considered a medicinal product. As such, commercially available vapes do not contain nicotine.
