Opinions on adapting look Black Pete on request of the minority Netherlands 2017-2018
This statistic illustrates the answers to the following survey question: "If a minority feels discriminated, we should seriously consider (small) adaptations of Zwarte Piet (Black Pete)"? Black Pete is the fictional aid of Sinterklaas, a local variation of Santa Claus in the Netherlands and Belgium. Due to his traditional black appearance, it has been publicly discussed in those countries whether Black Pete should change its look. As of 2017, 32 percent of respondents agreed that if a minority feels discriminated, it should be seriously considered to adapt Black Pete. This had increased to 34 percent in 2018.
