In 2020, the state of Zacatecas was by far the largest silver producer in Mexico. With some 2.19 thousand metric tons, it accounted for nearly 40 percent of the country's silver output that year. Chihuahua trailed in second, with 1.34 thousand tons, or around 24 percent of Mexico's silver production.
