Copper production in Mexico 2021, by state
In 2021, the state of Sonora was by far the largest copper producer in Mexico, accounting for nearly 81 percent of the country's copper mine output that year. Copper production in Sonora added up to some 593 thousand metric tons. The state of Zacatecas trailed in second, with a copper output of roughly 64 thousand metric tons.
