Brazil: leading states in 2020, by number of vegetarians and vegans

According to an online survey as of March 2020, the majority of vegetarians, vegans or supporters in Brazil were living in the state of São Paulo, with over 10.7 thousand people. The second largest population of self-identified vegetarians, vegans and supporters were found in Rio de Janeiro, with more than three thousand respondents. In 2018, 14 percent of respondents in a survey in Brazil identified as vegetarians.
