Ireland: share of children that participate in rugby 2022, by school stage and gender

In a survey of 2022, it was found that one quarter of boys at primary school level played rugby at a community sports club or similar setting. Meanwhile, 16 percent of girls at the same stage in school also played club rugby. These levels dropped for both genders among schoolchildren at the post-primary stage.
