Distribution of individuals affected by STIs in Italy 2020, by gender and age
In 2020, about 4.7 thousand sexually transmitted infections (STIs) were reported in Italy. This statistic shows how infections were distributed between age groups according to the gender and sexual orientation of infected individuals. According to the data, sexually transmitted diseases were most common among people aged between 25 and 44 years old. Moreover, it was more common to detect STIs at a young age among female individuals than among male ones.
