Grocery retail sales value in Turkey from 2012 to 2017

This statistic presents the value of grocery retail sales in Turkey from 2012 to 2017. Over the course of six years, figures showed a steady decline, reaching approximately 83.81 billion U.S. dollars worth of sales in 2017. This was approximately seven billion U.S. dollars less than the amount of grocery sales in the previous year.
The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service notes about this development that: "One of the main causes of this deterioration is rapid depreciation of the Turkish Lira (TRL) against USD."
