Number of women with higher education in Italy 2021, by region
In Italy, the regions with the highest number of women with a university education were Lombardy and Lazio, the regions with the largest population overall. In Lombardy, there were almost 790 thousand women with a higher education, while in Lazio the female population with at least a university degree amounted to 590 thousand. On the other hand, Molise and Aosta Valley, Italy's smallest regions, had the lowest number of graduated women nationwide.
