Cornea transplants in Mexico 2007-2022
In 2022, the number of cornea transplants performed in Mexico amounted to approximately three thousand interventions, up from around 2.3 thousand transplants completed a year prior. The sudden decline in kidney procedures occurred along with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the last year, more than 4.2 thousand patients were waiting for a cornea transplant in Mexico.
