In the United States, TJX generated nearly 22 billion dollars in sales in 2017, making it the most important region for the company in terms of revenue generation. HomeGoods has a 4.2 percent share of the total homewares market, making it one of the top furnishing stores in the United States, behind Bed Bath & Beyond and IKEA. However, the lion’s share of the revenue generated by TJX Companies comes from clothing and footwear.

TJX companies are very popular among consumers in the United States. Among female consumers, nearly 50 percent named TJ Maxx as a womenswear retailer that they either “like a lot” or “love”. Although many chains claim to pride themselves in their customer service and satisfaction, few brands can boast an 80 percent customer approval rating. A 2018 survey found that over 40 percent of consumers between the ages of 30 and 49 years had shopped at a Marshalls in the United States in the past year.
